The Optimist Club of Monaco South is a 501(c)4 non-profit service club, with volunteers dedicated to serving youth. The club was founded on July 4, 1976. From an original group of 43, the Club today has grown to over 120 members, the majority of whom are men, just as women make up the entire membership of the Optimist Club of Tamarac, with whom we work closely. Although the members of the Optimist Club of Monaco South come from all walks of life, we have one thing in common - we know we can make a difference. We also know that, as Optimists, we receive as much as we give through:
- Making a positive influence on the lives of the youth we serve.
- The fellowship, camaraderie and good humor we experience at our Friday morning meetings
- New social and business relationships with people from a cross section of our community
- The satisfaction of making a difference in our own lives and the lives of others
